Many people simply don’t want to download additional software to their computers, so some of the online poker sites have come out with instant play versions in an attempt to monetize this group of people. Some of the bigger sites in the industry have instant play versions of their poker games that allow people to play poker without having to download anything. After testing most of the instant play poker sites, it is my opinion that the two best instant play sites are UB and Party Poker. In this article I will discuss some reasons why people want to use a no download poker version, and I will talk some about the UB and Party Poker instant play versions.

Why Use Instant Play Poker?

As I mentioned above many people just don’t want to download poker software onto their computers. For me personally I don’t mind downloading these poker sites, but I understand why many people don’t want to download poker software. Perhaps you have children or a spouse and you don’t want them to see online poker on your computer, or you don’t want them to attempt to login to your online poker account. Perhaps you are at a friend or relatives house and don’t want to download something onto their machine, but you would like to play poker for a few minutes. Perhaps you are at work and are unable to download anything, but would like to play poker on one of your breaks. There are many circumstances where instant play poker can come in handy, so it’s nice to know that you have a couple of different options that are available to you.

UB Instant Play Poker

The UB instant play site is one of my favorites because it has most of the same features as the full UB Poker download version has. You can play both cash games and tournaments, and you can make full use of the cashier facility. The availability of the cashier function is nice, as you can cash out from your poker account from any computer without having to download anything. The UB instant play version is available for PC, Mac, and Linux so there really aren’t many limitations as to who can use the instant poker version. There are some features that are not available on the instant play version such as hot keys, instant hand replay, and table tiling. For me none of those are really important, so playing on the instant play version is pretty much the same.

Party Poker Instant Play

Before talking about the Party Poker instant play site I do want to note that they do not accept US players. If you are an American looking for an instant play poker site please use UB. With that being said, Party Poker is the best option for instant play poker for those who are not living in the United States. The Party Poker instant play version also runs on Java, and is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It is an in browser poker game, and the browsers that are supported are Internet Explorer, Mozilla, and Safari. The Party Poker instant play version is in my opinion the best out there because the game flows at the same speed as the download version, and you can play in any of the games that are available on the Party Poker download version. There are a few different options that are not available on the instant play version such as table filters, table resizing, and private tables. I don’t care much about the private tables, but the lack of table filters or resizing is a minor annoyance.
